Zip Wire with Chocolate Fountain

All the thrills of an adventurous activity with some tasty fruit to dip while you chat and watch your friends fly down the zipwire. A popular option on girls weekends or included as part of a longer event with other high or low ropes elements and watersports.

‘Tea on top of the world’  -   ‘Top out’ on a Lakeland summit

OK so it’s not Everest – but Gummers How gives stunning 360 degree views. For something a little different – we offer  ‘afternoon tea’ on the summit (or morning coffee) accompanied by sticky buns and  a fun quiz working out what all the landmarks are.

The whole trip can be done in less than 2 hrs so even in a busy schedule you can stand on top of a Lake District Mountain, with panoramic views of the Southern Lake district .  From the car park  we’ll guide you up the mountain with a choice of rocky scramble or easy walk. For most people it’s a comfortable half hour to the summit from where you can take a further stroll along the tops enjoying the views

‘Tyrolean Traverse’ – only wet if you want it to be!

The fear factor is……… will you get across the pond without touching the water? A hugely popular bit of fun incorporated into our G.T. Team Events, a cross between horizontal abseiling and a slow zip wire!.

Gorge Scrambling wild, wet and fun!

Crystal clear water, idyllic setting,  an amazing team experience. Have you have heard of canyoning? Well.. this is the civilized version – working together to find the driest (or wettest!) way up the sparkling cascades and clear pools of a mountain river set in the majesty of a Lakeland valley. We climb the waterfalls and traverse the pools – plunging into them is an optional extra rather than a necessity!.

‘Raft Building and Races’
– great for a giggle and a bit of ‘friendly’ competition!

Will your team’s design stand up? Will the others have come up with a better one? Who will get their act together to synchronize their effort on the water and take the winner’s crown? Works as a stand alone activity or as the
climax of a team event.

Team events in the mountain heart of the Lake District

The Max One not for the faint hearted!

Drop over a 120ft abseil into a stunning slate quarry then find your way out through the mine tunnels. Follow on with a mauraud up a steep Lakeland gorge and finish by trying the waterfall jump (the mini-max – there is a shorter abseil for those with less head for heights!)

Canyon High

Check out your abseiling skills on a 70ft abseil, then tackle the series of waterfall descents that make up one of the best short canyon experiences in the Lakes – short but sweet. And there is even a Pub at the bottom – but we suggest you dry off first!

Lake and Island

Stunning scenery cruising along the shores of Lake Coniston in open canoes. This journey can be made as strenuous or mellow as you like – depends how far you want to travel.  Our instructors are on hand to assure you are looked after. We launch from a sheltered bay and paddle along the lake, stopping off to visit ‘Wild Cat Island’ (made famous by Swallows and Amazons) for a ‘bushcraft’ tea or calling at one of the local tearooms!.

G.T. Team Events overlooking Lake Windermere

A successful formula for fun- with a bit of teambuilding. Based at Great Tower a 50 acre mature woodland site overlooking Lake Windermere.

Great Tower has extensive facilities and we can offer a range of stimulating and challenging team events to suit all abilities.  The site is well set up, it has self catering accommodation units and toilet blocks around the site. Team Events at G.T. can cater for most folks and we set our challenges to have wide appeal by including a selection from  initiative challenges, tyrolean pond crossing, low ropes course, mini-abseiling, competitive orienteering, raft building and catamaran canoeing.  How challenging  do you want it? We can adjust events to fit around your particular times and preferences.

Point ‘t’ Point:  A water based event on Lake Windermere with loads of team spirit. The event  begins with the teams in Voyager or catamaraned canoes. Clues and bonuses are won by getting to the places on the map…before the other teams.  The event culminates in building rafts and racing against the other teams.  (allow 3.5-4  hours)

Rope ‘n’ Boat: Tyrolean Pond Crossing, Low Ropes Challenge then a Canoe Trail event using Large Voyagers or Catamaran Open Canoes. This is  an excellent event with plenty of activity for everyone.    (allow 3 - 4 hrs).

High ‘n’ Dry :  A selection of mini-challenges involving climbing…  mini abseiling, tyrolean and/or ropes courses mixed up with initiative challenges. A competitive score event culminating in a fun head to head finale. Great for folks who like a bit if outdoor fun, suitable for anyone who wants to try it!   (3-4hrs)

High Ropes ‘n’ Zip Wire: take a spin down the zip wire, try the tree climb, fan assisted abseil, crate stack, high all aboard, jacobs ladder or gladiator challenge A varied selection some individual challenges some requiring working as a team to succeed. Fully supported by safety ropes and instructors.

'We come to you’ Team events

Most hotels in the Lake District are well placed to act as a base for teambuilding, many also have waterfront access. We offer a number of team building events and activities that are suitable for hotel grounds including an impressive 7m high, 36m2 climbing wall

Go-For-It:  A fun competition in three phases: 1 - teams decide who will do which challenges to help maximise the score, 2 - teams pit their skills against the initiative challenges to get a head start in the finale, 3 -a head to head competition with the other teams….winner takes al!. Loads of opportunities for teamwork and networking… and possibly a little cheating! A very popular event suitable for people of all ages.  (approx 3.5 hrs)

Mix ‘n’ Match: Something to please everyone – you tell us which if our activities you’d like to include and we’ll build an event around them. Top favorites include: mobile climbing tower, tyrolean crossing (horizontal abseiling), team initiative challenges, clue solve and raft races  (1.5-6hrs)

Paddlesport-  An afternoon of laughs, try your hand at a number of paddle sports, to give it that competitive twist each team can has a go at various challenges in the different craft and finish with a raft race finale. ( from 3-5 hrs)
